Library

Students may borrow books from the library for 1 week. If more time is needed, books can be rechecked out. 

Kindergarten: Up to 3 or more books may be checked out at a time.

Grades 1-5: Up to 5 books may be checked out at a time.

All Grades: Students may have 3 eBooks out at one time on Sora.

• Talk to your librarian about placing books on hold.
• Put Sora eBooks that are checked out on hold; These holds are automatically checked out to you.

• Books that are unavailable from our school library can be borrowed from other schools via Interlibrary Loan.

Highline Public Schools libraries do not charge late fees. Students may return an overdue book to any district library.

Book Care

Students are expected to care for books, keep them away from food and drinks and kept in good condition.

If small accidents happen, please return the book and let your librarian know.

Lost or Damaged Books

• Families can opt to replace a lost or damaged title with another usable book or same book.

• A replacement fee may be assessed if the book is lost or damaged beyond repair.
